Grace’s Family Home Evening

Published by Sally under Family, Grace

Tonight at Family Home Evening Grace said she wanted to be the leader (a.k.a. the boss). She took some markers, stuck them end to end to make a baton/leader stick and told us the lesson was on families are forever. (Great topic, okay, let’s hear what she has to say, I think to myself).

So, she starts off with informing us that it is okay if we die because we will be together forever. Then she says that mean and bad people will die before us because we are super good (Uhhh…not exactly).  So, we discuss that we all die sometime and we don’t know when but sometimes there are accidents and people who are good die, not just the bad people.

Next, she went on to tell us that Jesus died already and he is up in heaven. “He was the youngest child in his family (oh, really) and his family died a long time ago, about 50 years ago (hmmm…interesting),” she said. Buddy and I just kept trying not to make eye contact because we knew if we did, we’d bust up laughing and her feelings would be hurt.

All in all, she did a fine job and felt important to be able to be the leader. She’s a really good little girl and I am so happy she is in our family. She makes life interesting.

Bubbles

Published by Marlan under Ava, Family, Grace

I asked Grace to let the water out of the bathtub. She took it literally and decided that didn’t mean she had to let the bubbles go as well. The result:

Bubble Head

And she wasn’t supposed to get her hair wet…

Too much Berenstain Bears?

Published by Sally under Family, Grace, Marlan

After dinner last night, we were all sitting at the table, just talking and digesting when Grace looked over at Buddy (who was tipping back in his chair with both arms behind his head) and announced, “Daddy, why do you have fur under your arms?”

You can imagine the look we exchanged and then we all busted up laughing.

All I can say is, I am glad she didn’t say that to me because who knows, with all my raging pregnancy hormones, I just might have started crying.
